Impact: The declaration of closed-circuit television as a 'dying media' really set off a chain reaction that led to the rise of streaming services. Without it, Netflix might have just been a collection of DVDs gathering dust in a corner somewhere.. Fact: Fun fact: Closed-circuit TV is still used in prison systems today, although I'm not sure if the inmates appreciate it as much as the promoters did..
