Synopsis

The Chosen is a historical drama that tells the story of Jesus of Nazareth by focusing on the people around him rather than presenting events from a distant viewpoint. In the towns and villages of Galilee, everyday men and women face debt, illness, shame, and political pressure under Roman rule. When Jesus begins teaching and performing acts that inspire curiosity and controversy, unlikely individuals are pulled into his orbit. A struggling fisherman searches for a way forward, a woman burdened by a painful past finds restoration, and sincere seekers weigh tradition against what they are witnessing. As more disciples gather, their hopes for change collide with personal doubts and competing expectations. Meanwhile, religious leaders and Roman officials watch closely, trying to understand the growing movement and decide how to respond. Through intimate character stories and unfolding relationships, the series explores belief, belonging, and the cost of following a new path.
