Synopsis

Ben Mears comes back to Jerusalem's Lot after years away, drawn by unfinished business and the eerie reputation of the Marsten House, where a traumatic incident from his childhood still haunts him. Settling in and reconnecting with locals, he begins researching the house for a novel, only to find the town’s mood shifting as unexplained tragedies mount. People vanish, funerals multiply, and familiar faces begin acting strangely, especially after dark. Ben confides in Susan Norton and gradually forms a small circle of trust that includes teacher Matt Burke and others who are willing to question the official explanations. Their investigation points toward new occupants linked to Marsten House and a force that feeds on the living while spreading its influence through the community. With skepticism turning to dread, Ben and his allies race to understand what is happening and how to stop it before the town is changed forever.
