Overview

Set in the years after the Civil War, Cheyenne follows Cheyenne Bodie, a former Army scout who roams the American West taking whatever honest work he can find. Moving from cattle drives to law enforcement and odd jobs, he repeatedly crosses paths with settlers, townsfolk, and outlaws. Each stop brings fresh dangers, hard choices, and chances to stand up for people who have little protection on the frontier.

Synopsis

Cheyenne centers on Cheyenne Bodie, a tough, principled drifter shaped by his time as an Army scout. With no permanent home, he travels from territory to territory, hiring on as a cowboy, a guide, or a temporary lawman when the situation demands it. His journeys drop him into booming frontier towns, isolated ranches, and rough mining camps where money, land, and revenge often ignite conflict. Cheyenne tends to keep to himself, but his strong sense of fairness pulls him into disputes involving vulnerable settlers, threatened families, and communities intimidated by criminals or corrupt power brokers. The series tells mostly self-contained stories that mix action, moral dilemmas, and character-driven encounters, building a vivid portrait of a West where justice is rarely guaranteed and courage can come from unexpected places.
